Snakes in Suits

Published They can’t collaborate with others, and especially with those whom they see as adversaries.Psychopaths want to see others fail as that’s more likely to make them look good. The authors say that the same is true for Machiavellian and narcissists. Some psychopaths are very good socially, at least at first blush. And since they don’t have feelings and boundaries, they can easily switch persona to fit the situation.“Snakes in Suits” is not about these guys, but keep in mind that if the smooth approach fails, the smooth psychopath can resort to bullying, threatening and aggressive tactics. If you’re not a psychopath and want to have a good career, you must get ready with some effective work strategies. The author seems to imply that even psychopaths that live a seemingly normal life cause emotional and psychological pain with their behavior. But how can he be sure? In other words, boring.Basically comes down to helping you identify psychopathic behaviour. Since then I've read several books about the phenomena.Very recently I found out that a coworker of mine was misrepresenting me and my work to others in the company and vice versa, setting up a destructive conflict between administrative divisions. Now Dr. Paul Babiak and Dr. Robert D. Hare return with a revised and updated edition of their essential guide. What is much more extensive and not so obvious is the personal toll working with a psychopath has on the individual and the impact on employee productivity, as well as long term business viability. They damage many spirits, and may have people literally dying in their wake. It's confusing trying to keep track of the stories and single syllable names of the psychopaths, like Dave, Ned, Ron, Ted, Dan, and Al.This is a fun read for the first few chapters but then just repetitive. It is VERY repetitive. The author has developed a checklist and diagnostic tools for psychopathy (a word I find oddly pleasant to say) but the only close real diagnosis is Antisocial personality disorder.I skimmed this book -- didn't have much use for the fictional narratives that the authors interspersed every other chapter. They have these nice little vignettes in order to give a concrete example of characteristics to look for, but I think they tend to go a bit heavy handed with them. Welcome back. They may feign love or compassion calling others dear, darling and honey, complimenting them in order to get what they want, but they don’t actually FEEL love in the way that you or I do.Sociopaths are masters are presenting themselves as heroes with high morals and philosophy, yet underneath it they are the true criminal minds in society who steal, undermine, deceive, and often incite emotional chaos among families, the workplace and even entire communities. Snakes in Suits is a compelling, frightening, and scientifically sound look at exactly how psychopaths work in the corporate environment: what kind of companies attract them, how they negotiate the hiring process, and how they function day by day. They treat their money similarly. They fail to learn by experience, their inability to accept responsibility when something goes wrong means they never believe they have to learn from a mistake – they simply never make them – even when driving. They are never wrong. And the effects it could have when it is missed or seen too late.Excellent and very clear examples!! They have a tendency to distort the truth to suit their own cause and make themselves look good at the expense of others. They will spread lies and rumors about others in order to make themselves appear better and to manipulate the people they want to control. There is a complete lack of any remorse, guilt and They are never wrong.

He/she is a compulsive liar and won't hesitate in manipulating and exploiting people to get what they want. Given Hare's co-authorship I expected something a bit insightful and deconstructive; instead we get one of those awful way-too-easy-to-read business manuals that tells twee little stories in lieu of sensible discussion. Start by marking “Snakes in Suits: When Psychopaths Go to Work” as Want to Read: Interest-specific online venues will often provide a book buying opportunity. It’s good, but spent way too much time cautioning the reader to not do exactly what it was telling us how to do – realize that there are psychopaths among us and reducing the harm they can cause.   All of us at some point have—or will—come into contact with psychopathic individuals. The facts are never addressed.Sociopaths are delusional and literally believe that what they say becomes truthmerely because they say it!They possess poor judgment when assessing individuals, trusting them implicitly only to be deceived. They have no ability to think strategically and make no long term plans. This reads as more of a handbook and would work really well in that more structured environment that work (should) provide, and I think I would recommendThis book is a nice little guide for how to spot a psychopath in a work environment, as well as some useful tips for how to damage control or if your boss happens to be a psychopath. So how can we protect ourselves and our organizations in a business climate that offers the perfect conditions for psychopaths to thrive?Dr. Thankfully, I am in a work environment that is very supportive and have only dealt with a psychopath in my personal life (which let me tell you, is not something I would wish on a person as it left me emotionally broken).
