This is a fast read and maybe a cliffhanger but not quite sure...we will have to see if there is another book if if this is just where the author leaves us. It's just not for me. It is grossly misleading. Some people fall in love. Although there are aspects of this that are true, overall, I don't think that it is very original. This book is funny, sweet, and just a bit wicked. At least it was almost free.I don't get the 4 and 5 Stat ratings I wonder if I'm reading an entirely different book. I love how the Nathaniel starts to fall in love with Faelynn who wants to kill vampire's that killed her mother and kidnapped her faJust finished reading Disenchanted. She has a better relationship with her step-mother and step-sisters than in most retellings plus several potential suitors. Very much. Farrell is an award-winning Irish novelist who is currently based in the United States of America. I only hope that potential readers will find it, because it was (mostly) such a thoroughly fun romp of a read!I usually don't comment on covers, but this generic romance cover, while perfectly adequate for a generic romance line in, say, 1973, couldn't be more wrong for this particular book. Just finished this for a third time. Not recommended.After reading the first book in the Celtic Vampyre Saga I must full heartdetly admit - what a wonderful surprise.
The only real comment to potential readers that I would have is be sure that you like this kind of story and don't fall for the 'original' comments.Ok!

What you get, instead, is a totally original story that incorporates parts of the fairy tale into the plot line.Disenchanted is a fun twist on Cinderella. I love to re-read this series whenever I get a chance, I get lost in it every time I read it, especially this particular book - probably my favorite of the series. But I absolutely HATE the cover. The chemistry between Faelynn and Nathaniel....lets just say I'm rooting for them but at the same time Martha's story saddens me.Thoroughly enjoyed the writing style even though it did sometimes feel verbose, I actually felt 10x smarter after reading this because of all the big words, big words that I no doubt will be adding to my vocabulary,... the beginning felt a little slow though, but it held my attention enough to follow through with the entire book, and now my interest is beyond peaked, looking forward to the 2nd book!C.K.
