The US government is prioritizing gun ownership over basic human rights. This is our year to make sure young people get a say in the future of this country.We have a bold, comprehensive policy platform to end the gun violence epidemic in America that claims nearly 40,000 lives every year. Earlier in 2017, Colorado defeated a concealed carry bill that would have allowed guns in schools. On the federal level, the Fix NICS Act of 2017 has wide support in Congress from both parties and there is a strong likelihood that it will pass. We need common sense gun reforms that close loopholes and use proven policy solutions to stop gun violence from suicide to mass shootings to interpersonal gun violence.
