No concerns are effective right now, everything is going great.I have loved growing up in bridlemile. Alameda street has a lot of food bars to pick from.Nice houses but many condos and new apartments are going up in the spaces that use to be businesses.

We used to live in SF before we moved to London (living in UK the last 2 years) and hope we won't have trouble renting due to having California ID etc. The neighborhood itself is really quite gorgeous and is in close proximity to several bars and restaurants. Yes, there has been a historic bias in Oregon against immigrants to the state and against Californians in particular, since they are the most obvious and largest source of immigrants.

Oh I do have one question now for you actually Andrew. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We are moving to Portland and may need to secure a place quickly - are there dangerous areas or seedy areas in Portland that we should avoid? It's really not a big deal. Thank you!

Though its close to town, it's still a quite area.Sellwood-Moreland has lots of businesses, including restaurants, grocery stores, and even an amusement park! The area is becoming very trendy and more expensive to move into.I love that Irvington is really close to the city center without apartments costing an absolute fortune. It is near many good schools going from grade school all the way up to high school.



The area is very clean. The neighborhoods are beautiful and clean, and it’s a great place to raise children. Sellwood and Westmoreland are very walkable, it’s easy to get from place to place.

California bashing is not something to worry about. We do tend to tease people about it though. These neighborhoods are what truly defines “Portland”– all about the people and independent businesses who make up the character of these neighborhoods. Parts of north and northeast have historically been dicey, but some of those areas have since gentrified. We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing.
