Lucky for Clara, she had a great boss who defended her and refused to dismiss her due to hearsay. Although Clara had a supportive boss, there were many men in the government who were opposed to women working in their midst.
Teaching was one of the few careers available to women. That didn’t stop her from getting involved, making a difference, and ultimately changing the world.
